Answers to Frequently Asked Questions about Donations
Every year we wonder how we will raise the funds needed to continue to cover the operating expenses. But thankfully, the Lord has provided for our basic needs. We could always use more staff, more pay for current staff, and things like washing machines, gasoline, beds, mattresses, repainting, cooler replacement, plumbing help, etc. We are a small “mom and pop” operation. Our total budget is only about $40,000 per year. That pays all 5 employees plus food and utilities for the 27 children plus staff, so it is a very efficient operation. These are basic necessities, nothing extra at all. In fact, much of the food and clothes are donated because we work hard on that too. All funds are run through our US affiliate Lifesong for Orphans, so you can be assured that we are stewarding the funds well.
Deciding which charities we support as individuals is an important decision. Before we add a ministry to the list of those we support, we want to know that it will use our hard earned funds wisely. At Timothy House, your donations are needed and appreciated! We know that the Mexicans who run Timothy House are trustworthy because we lived and worked with them for many years. Every donation makes a difference to our small ministry. Lifesong covers all administration expenses thus freeing 100% of your donation for ministry.
