Before and After Pictures - Orphanage Property

March 9th, 2010

We thank the Lord for helping us build a home for orphans over the last 2 years. Here are some pictures of the new property 2 years ago before we started building. For each “BEFORE” picture, there is a matching “AFTER” picture that follows. Click on the photo to zoom in.

Jared is our newest resident at Timothy House.

Jared is 10 years old and our 25th resident! He is not expected to stay long term. He has been very well behaved. Please pray that his father can recover from his addictions and that Jared can be reunited with his family soon.

The Waibel family visits

We have been blessed with many visitors lately. The first were the Waibels from IL. We sure enjoyed their family, and I think they enjoyed getting to know the TH children.

Visiting pastors

Next were some pastors who were traveling through. Jose and Cathy stayed one night and Jose shared a Bible lesson with the children.

Ron and Jane are good friends. They have adopted the TH children as their grandchildren.

The Wulf family visits TH

Duane and Ann Wulf visited us along with their 5 children. They are from Iowa but live in Magdalena Sonora now. Duane is starting a business which he hopes to use to provide employment opportunities for orphans such as those from TH. Maybe someday he will employ some of our children in his new business. Here is his new website: The Fatted Calf website

The security fences, gates, and signs are all done now, accept that we will probably paint the wall someday. The next project we hope to start on is the second floor addition to Timothy House.

Activity Center Built by Work Team

February 2nd, 2010

We had a wonderful week with a work team from Francesville, our home church. They worked hard for 5 days and were able to finish the activity center building and the security fence. The children love the new court and roof!

Aaron Runs Away, and Pouring Concrete

December 6th, 2009

The bad news is Aaron ran away. It is one of those things that doesn’t make any sense. He seemed to be fairly content and improving, but he also was a difficult child and didn’t think right sometimes. I guess who of us can say he always thinks right? But Aaron’s grave error makes us all sad.

We went looking for him. The gas station attendant had seen him, but we never found him. We don’t know where he is. The only family of his we know is a brother, whom we contacted, but Aaron is not there. So we pray that he will be OK wherever his is.

The good news is the progress on the basketball court. Several volunteers came to help pour the concrete and 1/4th of the court is now poured, thank the Lord! Here are some pictures…

Materials are staged for the tin roof

Thanks to God first and also a generous donation from a close friend of Casa Timoteo, we have purchased most of the materials that will be needed to build the metal roof structure over the court.

Also, we are welding together a swing set for the children to play on

It doesn’t look like much, but that metal tube is well drilling pipe. It is special steel that is very hard and strong. You can’t even drill into it. The used price was still over $2 a foot! But it was what a friend of ours recommended because it should last forever, well longer than any of us will anyway!
