August Update!

August 23rd, 2012

I feel I owe an apology to all those who visit our Timothy House blog. I have not been updating it as I should. As you know, I (Bob) have been working full time on the Anvoy Project. So here is a long overdue update!

TH Boys Head Back to School
Domingo, Angel and Juan went to live with their older sister this summer. So that leaves just 7 boys at Timothy House. I say “just” because it seems like so few compared to the 26 that we had in the past. But we are very content as we trust the Lord is directing our path and allowing us to provide more individual attention to these precious youth. They are growing so fast!

The twins, Jose and Ramiro, Freddy and Roberto are all 12 years old and heading to junior high school in town for their first year. It is an exciting transition for them. Please pray that God will give them wisdom to learn what is good and true, and reject the many deceptive, secular ideas that are also taught. Salvador (11), Victor (9), and Jesus (8) are going to the local elementary school. All of these boys are well behaved and happy. We praise God for His goodness, merciful protection, and grace as we strive to raise them up to be good men, faithful husbands and responsible fathers.

The “house church” at Timothy House continues to be blessed with many children and a few adults from the neighborhood attending regularly. The enthusiastic singing of the youth, participation in reading, commenting, and special performances warms our hearts and glorifies our Creator who made all this possible!

Anvoy Academy Update
We launched the first version of Anvoy Academy in July and have been making improvements ever since. The 1st version was a “beta test,” which means it was more of a prototype than the “real thing.” We thank the Lord that everything has been going well, and more or less as we hoped, except for it all taking longer than we would like. But we are looking forward to a major milestone in mid september, which will be the 2nd release – the “fully functional education and publishing platform!”

We will be rolling all the marketing, videos, and explanations out, Lord willing, by the end of September, at which time you will be able to learn all about Anvoy! Please pray that the Lord will continue to lead this project and that it will lift His name up in the nations.

The Huber Summer Trip
We are thankful for safe travels this summer when we headed back to Francesville. We have the best friends and family in the world! Of course the highlight was Salome’s baptism! Chloe is now living in West Lafayette and going to Ivy Tech. Special thanks to John and Claudia for filling in for us a few days at TH while we were gone!

In August, we took the TH gang to the beach in Bahia Kino. We were able to stop and see Julio (14) who is now at an orphanage in Hermosillo.

Thank you for your love and faithful prayers!

Pastors Meet with Mayor Candidate

June 5th, 2012

First off, I appologize for not post more often. I have asked Joy or even Salome to help. They did the last post. Now it is my turn.

We are making good progress on the Anvoy project. More on that later.

We had the priviledge to host a meeting of most of the pastors of all the Christian churches in our community. It was a joy to see our cafeteria full of them, their wives, and other church leaders. We had a meeting with a candidate for leader of our area, similar to a county. The candidate is a close friend of ours, who used to attend our church services when Timothy House was still located in the rental house 4 years ago.

The pastors where thrilled to meet a candidate that wanted to meet with them. His vision is to help the town by working through the churches and other ministries like ours. So we are prayerful for and thankful for the candidate.

Everyone enjoyed having Chloe visit over Spring break. The Spring weather has been nice and varied with some wind, rain, cold, and nice days too. The fruit trees are full of blooms! I wished I had taken a picture of the orange tree with its fragrant flowers before it rained. The bees were sure busy for awhile and we can’t wait for a good crop of oranges in due time!

Volunteers unloading one of the loads of donated food and supplies

Calvary Chapel Christian School again this year blessed us by filling our food pantry and donating other needed supplies. May God bless the students, parents, teachers and organizers who took part!

Bob has been busy working on Anvoy with a team of developers from India. The following is a proposal for the front page of the website. We have several months of work to do yet before the website is opened, but are thankful for the progress we have made in the past 2 months.
